SunsetMaxPatch.JPG

Camping at Max Patch was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. As you can tell by the photograph, Its beauty is speechless and astonishing. When we arrived late in the afternoon it was storming, and we ended up sleeping in the car (slightly uncomfortable), but kinda fun. The next morning we woke up early to catch the sunrise and pitch our tent for that night. The mountain top was super foggy that morning and made it hard to see the view, but when the clouds gave way it was like a picture had been painted right in front of us. Max Patch never disappoints and is by far my favorite place to be.

We enjoyed our instant coffee that morning in the car and got ready to hike up the mountain. It was a cold, foggy, and windy. morning up there, but It was worth it even though the sun was hiding behind the thick fog and clouds. We came for a sunrise and got the total opposite, who knew a foggy mountain bald could be so beautiful? The fog didn’t last too long. Once the fog dissipated, we could see the blue ridge mountains.

We got to watch an awesome sunset that night. The sky was clear our second night at max patch, and the stars were beautiful. My fiance captured this amazing photo of the sky that night along with our lit up tent. The remainder of our little fire that Desmond built is also in the photo :) It took about an hour to get the fire to stay lit but it made the caveman inside Desmond happy.
